O.R.B_and_Crew_Refrence Sheet

Phew ... its finally done !!!

My reference sheet for Steel Nation Tournament ^_^

That took longer than i planned due to college exams and projects that ruined my mood ( a.k.a Art-Block ) but now i
got some free time .. so i had no excuses for not completing it XD

Let's get into the details:-

Aside from the very helpful notes ( in blue pen ) that Henry added himself ( lol ) i'll explain things further ^_^

Origin of O.R.B:
------------------
-The original O.R.B ( Orbital Reconnaissance Ball ) was 4 times larger than this miniture version .. since it was used for space recon, retrival, sabotage and satellites destroying missions ... it also had two huge boosters to allow for space travel .... but they were removed since this miniture model ( Mv.3 ) was modified for ground combat by " Dr.Ashcroft " its original inventor.


O.R.B (Mv.3) Specifications :

-Outer Shell & Inner Shell made from a "light Titanium alloy"

-Powered by a "Plasma Fusion Core"

-A Mechanical User Control Scheme aided by limited Voice Commands & a Neural link that is still under testing

-Control Support System .. which Neurally connects to the pilot for aid in battle.

-A Main Plasma Beam Gun that has a long cool down period ( charged from the main power core ).

-Eight Mechanical Arms which the pilot controls through help from the C.S.S (Control Support System) and each has a small plasma gun with a medium cool down time ( charged from the main power core )

-The EYE, a multi-vision scope with Night & Thermal vision functions and a 10X Zoom, Plasma Beam Gun is integrated with the EYE, which in turn has a limited centric movement ability ( inner shell can view the outside by using a multitude of tiny protected cameras implanted on the outer shell besides the main user screen which gets feed from the EYE directly )

-While in Walker Mode, O.R.B can use its Legs and Feet to move around and fight using a high frequency wrist blade

-Two missile Pods each with pay load of four anti-Vehicle missiles are located on the back of O.R.B ( concealed )

-A plasma shield that protects the Mecha from projectiles.. and any object nearby can be repulsed away due to the semi-physical nature of the shield ... besides those functions, the shield nature allow for Rolling O.R.B on the ground to gain high speeds .. shield has a very short period of functioning, usually "1" to "4" mins depending on circumstances ( the period is limited eventhough the shield is directly connected to the Plasma Core )

Notes:
-------
-Outer Shell revolves freely from the Inner Shell while rolling in "Sphere mode" ( could be prevented from revolving if desired .. although that might cause dizziness for the pilot ).... but since Inner Shell has all equipment and Outer Shell in only extra protection ... many functions won't work when O.R.B is revolving using the plasma shield ( Disabled Functions : The 8 arms, the Main Plasma Beam, The Close Combat Arms and Legs )

"Jin Drake" : 29 yrs old ( Main Pilot )

Nostalgic - Strong Willed - usually Calm & Easy Going (but) Edgy when picked on ( specially by Henry )

An Ex-military and currently a convict on the wanted list of the "Untied Earth Federation" .... lost his both arms in a tragic accident that involved the death of an innocent civilian of great importance to the U.E.F officials ... Dr.Ash gave him shelter and allowed him to pilot O.R.B to fight off the U.E.F chasers .. and later "Jin" decides to join Steel Nation Tournament for a very personal reason .. Dr.Ash helped "jin" as a token of gratitude since "Jin" saved his life once before.




"Hana Loma": 34 yrs old ( Mechanic & Emergency Pilot )

Kind Hearted - Bossy - Stubborn - Cheerful - Obsessed with Mechanics

Previously a Mechanic in the military .. she was called upon by Dr.Ash ( since he co-operated with the U.E.F military before and admired her skills ) to help fix O.R.B and restore it after "Jin" damaged it badly in his first test drive ... she was supposed to leave the hideout afterwards but she decided to stay and help maintain O.R.B ( and discipline Henry ^_^ ) without giving a clear reason why she took that decision !!!?





Henry III .. or Henry Ashcroft : 14 yrs old ( Technical Genius)

Self Centered - Nerdy - Self-Proclaimed Genius - Talkative - Hates orders - Obsessed with Acronym & calling things names

Son of Dr.Ash and his only current student ... genius since the age of 6 ... but grew to have a very annoying attitude and a self-centered character ... while he is always fighting with "Jin" ( who can't stand children ) for silly reasons .. "Hana" knows exactly how to put him under control ... but what annoys her the most is the cold way he treats Dr.Ash with ( eventhough he listens to his instructions ).. since he considers him responsible for the death of his mother !!?





Dr.Ashcroft Woods : 51 yrs old ( owner & creator of O.R.B )

Silent - Indulges himself in his work ( which he has a strange hate/love relation with ) - Kind Hearted (but) Very Serious when it come to work - possessive

Dr.Ashcroft was a scientist who used to offer his services for the U.E.F a lot to get payments that help him work on his personal researches ... but a wrong desicion he took during a hostage situation on a space colony completely changes his life ... he loses his wife and becomes crippled ( he decided not to use mechanical legs as an atonement for his mistake )

since then he decided to join the military science department and indulge himself in work ( since he lost all motivation for personal work ) ... because of his involvement with the military he was sent into a war-torn zone ( by his own demand ) only to be saved by "Jin" from a rebel group that wanted to kidnap him ... later on "jin" is caught up in the mess the rebels caused and ends up making wrong decisions the U.E.F condemned him for ( he causes the death of a journalist/reporter who was the daughter of a very rich businessman who supports the U.E.F military and loses his arms trying to save her !!! )

Dr.Ash decides to help him out of gratitude and since he reminded Dr.Ash of himself back on the space station accident )





Female Journalist/Reporter : ( name: ? ) ( age : ? )

She is the daughter of a very rich and powerful business man who has strong connections with the U.E.F .... she got sick of her luxury life and decides to join a news company that specializes in covering war & disasters events ( to do something she finds spiritual, heroic & different from her boring life ) .. her father refuses to let her travel to a war-torn zone for news coverage as her first assignment .. she insists and threatens to go there regardless of what he says ... giving up on his stubborn daughter he agrees but contacts U.E.F officials so that they assign one of their best soldiers as her personal protection .. who turns out to be "jin" in his military days !!!

what happend then .. how did they end up like that and how was love born between the two on that battlefield ... all these answers are with "jin" .. so keep an eye on him !!!
